Commentary

- The bit with intangible tails going through chairs and such

I changed the dialogue in panel two slightly to address something that was asked about after the previous page: The idea of two invisible immortals.

Originally, Tedd asked about tripping on a small pebble, which I liked, but it didn't provide any new information. I decided I wanted to answer the question of multiple invisible immortals, so I put it there.

No loopholes!

What's addressed on this page is basically why I teased about loopholes not working in the previous commentary. There MIGHT be some convoluted way around this to accomplish... Something? But there's no easy "I'm going to do something that matters on purpose by accident" loophole.

Ultimately, the point is that immortals are very limited in what they can do while invisible, are vulnerable in various ways, and can mess up their hiding in various ways.

If there's a loophole I allow to actually work, it'll have to be for a very good reason.

Almost a loophole!

One thought someone had that almost made me say "fair enough" was the idea of locking away the memory of wanting to kick the ball while invisible, and leaving manipulations in place to GET THAT BALL KICKED.

I wound up deciding that STILL wouldn't work, however, because that intent is still there. It's just been intentionally obfuscated. The immortal might have no idea why the ball they "accidentally" ran into didn't move, but that won't change anything.

Matters of what immortals believe and intend are very strict. We humans can get away with kinda-sorta convincing ourselves of nonsense we don't really believe deep down on a daily basis, but immortals get forced introspection when it matters, and can't be anywhere near that loose.
