Commentary

And so it was that Mist failed, and there were no relevant consequences whatsoever.

As such, I guess there's not a lot to say about this page? I'll just prep for the next page.

...

Oh.

Please disregard the first sentence of this commentary.

In all seriousness, some comments on this page:

Mist's antennae are behind his ears. At first, I was hesitant to have them there, because I wasn't sure what sense that made. Then I remembered there wasn't much sense to antennae placement in general, so sure, why not, they can be there.

Writing the dialogue for this page without making too wordy, or missing important details, was difficult. I hope it's not confusing, but if it is, anything that's unclear that matters should be clearer later.

The main thing I wanted to draw this page was Mist in the second-to-last panel.

Mist could still be using a projection on this page, and most likely, he is. Most people in Moperville seeing Mist right now would see an elderly woman. We, however, have seen BEYOND his projection, and can now see through it!

(By which I mean I wanted to show more of Mist in his true form, so I did.)

Spoilers for a 2019 EGSNP storyline below

No longer spoilers for today's comic (it's right up there!), but still spoilers for a 2019 EGSNP storyline.

That said, if you've read the above page, and reach a certain point in that EGSNP storyline, you're going to know how it goes anyway.

The storyline is only SORT OF canon, because the choice to make it canon relevant are late, so there's potential fourth wall nonsense that is certainly not canon.

NONE of it is required reading, but the EGSNP storyline is called Parable? It started out as a game parody, became a dream, and then there was a unicorn. That unicorn was Mist.

One way to explain away any fourth wall break nonsense is the presence of Tensaided, as it could simply be a side effect of his personality, and people playing things up for a non-existent audience. That said, I consider it safest to stick with the description of "sort of" canon.
