In place of narration or zooming out in a page with a fair amount of dialogue and faces, I have gambled upon people being able to instantly know that Elliot and Tedd are at school due to the power of backpacks.

If this was folly, then, um... Well, they're at school. You know that. Now.

Also, I'm very curious where you thought they were if not school. This is more forgivable if you missed the backpacks, WHICH YOU MIGHT HAVE! Backpacks are notoriously stealthy.
