I'd like to think I wouldn't panic, knock someone to the ground while running away, and keep running after being suddenly confronted by this, but who knows what would happen once instincts kicked in.

Ideally, it would be a sudden awakening of instinctive ninja skills coded deep within human DNA that is only activated once confronted with such things, but I have my doubts.

I DO know I'd be ticked if I was the person knocked down, however. I don't care how understanding someone is, that is a "I did not appreciate that" scenario.
