One might assume there's not much instruction needed on how to use the spells for exercise, and that might be true. It's an amount greater than zero, however, and plenty of people who try to use simple exercise machines without instructions in real life make potentially harmful mistakes.
One of the best ways to avoid that is to not only be given instructions, but to have someone who knows observe, and check for mistakes.
Heck, you don't even need to get machines involved. It's really easy to do a push-up wrong.
As such, I feel "I need to instruct you on how to use these spells" is totally valid.
Ashley had been off-panel for several comics. This wasn't intended as set up for Ashley doing something off-panel, but I figured it would be disappointing if she wasn't up to something after seven comics.
How exactly cat ears work on a human head, and how hairstyles work with them, can be a bit of a mystery. When I settled on giving Ashley ears like that, I was thinking "today is the day I sort out the logic of how that all works."
And then I almost immediately gave up, and cheated the heck out of it by essentially merging the ears with her hair. As one does.
Sincerely, I mean that "as one does." I've read and/or watched a lot of things that do that with animal ears on peole, and it seems to be the best default solution.
