"So we're all in agreement regarding these laws, then!"

"Wait, don't we get more powerful and mentally unstable if we don't reset for too long? What happens if one of us lives for several hundred years and can genuinely rationalize almost anything to their own satisfaction?"

"Oh, what are the odds of that happening?"

Say what you will about our judicial system, but at least we don't have that particular problem.

Anyway, yes! This is why immortals can play so fast and loose with the "empower and guide" restrictions (beyond that being something of an oversimplification, as evidenced by the fact that Pandora had a kid without it being an issue). The only person any immortal has to truly convince with their own logic is themselves, and even then, all they have to believe is that they're technically adhering to those restrictions.
