Because I can see that happening.
My understanding is you could get all the protein amino acids you need from the right potatoes (maybe all potatoes? I'm not a potato scientist), so no, you don't NEED meat for protein.
Also, you're probably not limited to potatoes.
You definitely need to know what you're doing if you're going to safely be a vegetarian, however. You can't just wing it, especially with not being allowed to eat wings.
This wouldn't be a surprise to you if you actually researched vegetarianism.
