That man was not giving Mr. Raven's briefing his full attention.
Schedule
Ahead of me is a week who looked at my desired schedule, scoffed, and told me best of luck.
Ahead of this story is a scene who would very much like to be gotten right.
It was with those two in mind that I decided to pull a "To Be Continued...", and was condemned to hear Jonathan Frakes say "Mister Worf... fire" in my mind.
In fact, they'd nearly convinced me to have this be the end of part 4! I've made it a slightly strict policy that I take at least one day off between parts—I say "slightly" because I already broke it at the start of part 4—so it made a twisted sort of sense in my mind to end it here.
"I take at least one day off between parts. I need to take a day off. Therefore, I should end the current part."
In fairness to myself, this is quite the cliffhanger, and I might be excused for ending the part here. This, however, is not where I wish to end the part, and imagine if I had needed the previous Thursday off. Part 4 would have ended on "what the carp" as a man screeched for no other reason than I needed a day.
Roundabout logic like that seems an easy thing to get caught up in. We should all be careful.
