EDIT: It's my understanding that they're patching it so D.Va is no longer harmed by her own exploding mech, which may well confuse future readers. It used to put her at risk, too.
I need a thousand years more practice before I'll be comfortable and at ease drawing mechs and cool outfits with that many details.
In Overwatch, characters have special Ultimate moves they can do after enough time / damage dealt / healing / whatever. D.Va's ultimate is to exit her mech and set it to self destruct with the risk of blowing her up if she doesn't get far enough away.
This was not a thing I was aware of the first time I tried D.Va's ultimate.
Outside of the mech suit, she runs around Samus of Metroid style until she summons a replacement mech, which I guess she just has an endless supply of. I would question the logic of this, but she also shrugs off getting blown up by her own mech after a few seconds, so there really isn't much point to it.
Because I'm a huge nerd, I totally made a quick video of D.Va shooting some robots and blowing up her mech and flung it on to YouTube so it could provide context for this comic. Be warned that there is cartoonish violence towards adorable squeaky robots.
