Have I mentioned lately that this is Cinderella?
"...he would marry her whose foot the slipper would just fit" is the line from the actual story (at least, the English translation of it).
I was tempted to completely hide the eyes of the guards in shadow. Thanks to the helmets, it felt like it would have worked as an homage to various cartoons and video games that kept the faces of generic guards hidden in shadow. Given that my only reason to do it was an homage that would've confused most people, however, I decided against it.
