In case you don't understand what they're doing, they're making characters for Dungeons & Dragons. I'm sure you can recognize Tedd and Sarah, as poorly drawn as they are, but give yourself a pat on the back if you figured out that the character on the left end of the panels is Elliot. I REALLY had no idea how I wanted him to look back then.
Here's a little quiz: how can you tell that this isn't the first EGS comic ever? The answer is simple if you've heard about Tedd's origins. Basically, Tedd's sex-change obsession is the result of people asking if he was male or female (they couldn't tell from my drawings), meaning that other comics had to of come before this one. Where are those comics now? Probably somewhere in my room... I have literally thousands of papers to go through.
And here's the dialogue, in case my handwriting proves difficult to read on some monitors:
ELLIOT: Aren't you done making your character yet, Tedd?
TEDD: Still considering something...
ELLIOT: What alignment? What skills you'll choose?
TEDD: Gender.
SARAH: I'm outta here.
